Design Awards and Exhibition

Below is my initial design mock ups for the app. I wanted to create a user face which was simple and easy to navigate with a professional minimalist design. The app would consist of three pages; the first being the home page where the user can choose to donate. The second page would be the donate page where the user will be taken to once they clocked on the donate button on the home page. From here the user can choose how much they want to donate. once they have chosen ho much to donate they will be sent to a thank you page where the app recognises there contributions and presents links to the RSPCA social media pages so the user can see and follow where there money is going and what help it is giving. 

After researching into app designs i found that a lot of them try to keep a simplistic style as apps are used on phone screens so there is not a lot of real estate to use. due to this you don't want to have a crowded space as text won't be legible and the whole design would feel overcrowded.  below are some examples of modern app designs:  As you can see from these images, a lot of the app designs are minimal and use shapes and photographs to build up the bulk of the interfaces display.  After looking at app design n general i started to look at app designs for donation services. i came across a blood donation app and an app called 'SnapDonate'.  Below are images of these apps:  This app allows someone to donate to a specific charity as it recognises the charities logo on a poster, billboard etc. The software i would be using would be a barcode in which someone could scan and be taken directly ...

Below are three poster mock ups for my poster campaign to bring about change and awareness to animal neglect and cruelty. 

Due to the severe weather in the midlands the women  was meeting from the rspca was snowed in and could not attend the meeting. this then had to be postponed unttill the 2nd of january for when she was back in work. due to these circumstances i wasn't able to produce the finished posters until i undertake the photoshoots so throughout this christmas break i will be mocking up posters with photographs from the internet and will be designing what the donation app may look like.

The RSPCA have got back to me and we had arranged a meeting. I have to go in for an initial briefing  so both parties are on the same page then i need to go through a health and safety induction for when i am on site photographing. The RSPCA have said that the photos of the very worst cases are not aloud to be made public until a few years after the incident due to legal reasons. I wanted my campaign to really suck people and make them think so i will have access to such images and will be able to take my own but the very worst ones will not be able to be used which of course hinders my project but i understand why they cannot be released. I am meeting Serena Grimes who is the Centre Manager for the RSPCA Worcester and Mid Worcestershire on Monday, 11th December. Recent Animal Cruelty posters/Ad campaigns  These are a mixture of current and recent animal cruelty posters and ad campaigns that i feel are either very clever or just well crafted. I think for a successful poster/ad campaign it needs to be simple and clear but impactful and hard hitting.  Ideas:  As you can see from the statistic below, dogs are the most popular household pet in the UK. I am going to focus the majority of my poster campaign around dogs as i feel this would hit a wider audience. If all goes well i will try with cats but from past experience dogs have always been easier to photograph and this is another reason why i will be focusing on dogs.  www.statista.com  - I want to create a visually impactful poster series clearly showing the animal abuse/cruelty that is   present this day in age.   Initial thoughts on the brief:  I chose this brief as it was one that i could really put a personal stamp on. I felt that the other briefs were restricting and i wanted to do something which i was passionate about and this brief allows that as i can choose a cause close to me.  Causes that spring to mind:   Animal Cruelty/Abuse   Poaching Global Warming Stereotyping  Tattoos in the workplace  I have chosen animal cruelty. I feel that animal cruelty/abuse is such an important topic but i need to be careful not to replicate any previous designs as it is a topic which gets done so often but it is a topic I'm so passionate about that i cannot not do it.
